Don’t speak French?

décembre 2025 — A note for everyone who wants to read these notes

There is a limit in how much music you can play as a one-man band. This is why, despite being fully bilingual, I have never chosen to maintain my website in French and English. It is just too much of a hassle.

This is where technology can play its role; this is exactly what it should be used for. Also, with the development of AI and machine learning, the quality of automatic translations can only improve over time. It has already, but something tells me we are not done.

I can’t speak for other platforms, but Apple introduced automatic webpage translation in 2020 with macOS 11 Big Sur1. The feature was impressive from day one because the in-browser translations respected the webpage design and were performed locally on your device. Today, we are years later and in my opinion, this is still among the most useful and probably one of the most underrated features of Safari. If your OS is recent, you will even see texts translated inside of images. As someone used to say: It just works.

Therefore, dear visitors, please enjoy this website in your local language using automatic translation on your Apple devices2 or with the solution of your choice. There might be a few quirks here and there, but you will at least get a gist of the topics. Also, you can always reach out if something is broken, not clear or if you jsut want to let me know what language you are reading this site in. I speak English and French and I am learning a few other languages.
